Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is a part of the formal education process. Critical thinking is a very important component in the teaching and learning method. Almost in all professions, included is " critical thinking "  as a module being taught  for them to arrive  into definite conclusions, and explore different kinds of ideas.Critical thinking is a way of deciding whether a claim is always true, sometimes true, partly true, or false.> Cynthia.…See More

In this era of global information, AIEP is committed to promote and further English communication skills beyond the usual standards. Through our modern training methods, we augment skills that allow individuals to compete effectively in various industries. Our modules include – but are not limited to – the integral aspects of learning any language. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills are only a few of the foundational elements that we teach.

Any school can teach a student to memorize, repeat, and speak words. At the Institute, we train students to communicate using critical thinking. Throughout any of our courses, student speeches are analyzed and critiqued on the spot. We teach individuals not merely to speak, but to speak well and to speak critically.

Whether you join us for your personal, professional, or business development, our Institute is dedicated to your complete satisfaction. We take pride in providing the best courses and modern methods that directly improve your own or your employees’ confidence, critical thinking, and conversation fluency. COMPANY PROFILE

The prestigious American Institute for English Proficiency (AIEP),
established in 2006 and located at 227 Salcedo Street, Suite 2G, in Makati City, and now with a new branch in Baguio City at 39 Marcos Highway, is the Philippines' premiere service provider of English language training, career development, and speech and communication training, specializing in Conversation Fluency, Public Speaking, American Accent Training, Grammar, Writing, Standardized Test Preparations (IELTS and TOEFL) and of course, Personality Development, Confidence Building, and Critical Thinking; there is no learning institution with higher standards nor better staffed than The American Institute. The American Institute’s goal is simple: to provide only the best training and learning experience to help students and clients alike reach their personal, career, and business goals.

THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE’s clients are from all over the world; they are executives, professionals, and students from Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Spain, India, Saudi Arabia, and China, among many others. Here in the Philippines, we have assisted not only corporate groups and call centers, but also business professionals who are seeking to improve their speech and communication skills for their sales and marketing positions, recent college graduates who are preparing for their interviews and standardized tests, school teachers and IT professionals who are applying for positions abroad, and individuals who are simply looking to enhance their lifestyle and personalities.  Besides the individuals whom we serve on a daily basis, we have many major multinational firms as clients.

Not only are we a “thinking” school, we are also a “caring” school. We have a community service arm, wherein our staff and students have volunteered for the ABS-CBN Foundation to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy; we raised funds to repack goods and went to flooded areas of Pasig to distribute medicine and other necessities. We cooked meals for children and families who lost their homes. In addition, we have donated to Tahanang Walang Hagdanan. Finally, we have given countless scholarships to Filipinos who need to improve their English proficiency so that they can improve their communication skills and thereby achieving their personal and professional goals.

Because The American Institute administers the highest educational standards, the graduates are poised, knowledgeable, and very confident; they excel in interviews, are awarded promotions, and become social and corporate leaders. The American Institute’s team of American and Filipino-American English Language Specialists, along with the local staff members, will deliver not only an innovative and a qualitative learning experience, but also an inviting atmosphere where students from all walks of life and all levels of education can thrive and be successful.

THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE APPROACH

CRITICAL THOUGHT BASIS

Once in a while, we hear people say that what they learned in college is never used in the real world.  There is the assumption that quadratic equations are useless to the English Literature Major, just as poetry is a waste of time for the Bachelors of Science student.

The argument against that assumption is – of course – that if we take all our university subjects seriously, then we eventually become more rounded, more holistic individuals. At the Institute, even this argument is only a partial answer.

The reason why we take various subjects is to practice different methods of problem solving. We do not analyze a poem and a mathematical equation in the same way. Poets and scientists see a rose differently. And this is precisely the reason why we take various subjects in our respective universities – to see or solve a problem in as many ways as possible.

We might not recall all the minutia of a university education, but there is one thing we do take with us – the ability to solve a single problem through different approaches and from different angles. The university experience augments our ability to think critically, precisely because we are immersed in diverse perspectives.

At the American Institute of English Proficiency, we reinforce critical thinking and problem solving abilities as universal skills adaptable to any field of expertise.

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION ENVIRONMENT

Without a doubt, the best way to learn English is to be part of a community of speakers. We learn best by being immersed in an environment that contributes to learning and promotes constant dialogue.

Individuals from every walk of life come to learn at our center, but they are likewise involved in a growing community of English speakers. The education at the American Institute extends beyond the sessions, beyond the walls of our center.

By creating a venue and a community to constantly use the English language, the Institute actively involves students in their own education. Our students and clients discover that English is made more practical, dynamic, and – most of all – alive when practiced with peers of various English proficiency levels. At the Institute, we believe in creative collaboration.

THE DIFFERENCE

From our Marketing module to the Parliamentary Debate sessions, from Impromptu orations to Extemporaneous speeches, the Institute uses critical thinking as the basis for all our classes. We train people to think out of the box, on their feet, and beyond expectation.

We are the American Institute for English Proficiency. Visit us and see the difference.
